Bocconcino откроет новый ресторан в Сохо и планирует третий ресторан к 2024 году
Mikhail Gokhner’s high-end Italian restaurant, Bocconcino, is set to open a second site in the heart of London’s Soho this year and has set its sights on a third location in the Strand, expected to open in 2024.
Following the success of Bocconcino in Mayfair, the new Soho site will launch on 15 September on Great Marlborough Street.
Bocconcino will specialise in authentic Italian fare with a contemporary flair, including wood-fired pizzas, handmade pasta and cicchetti.
With capacity for 146 diners across two floors, the 471 square foot site will have an open-plan dining area seating 120, plus an intimate bar on the lower-level seating 26.
Andrea Caglioti, general manager of Bocconcino Soho, said: “There’s such a buzz in Soho and I’m confident our new restaurant with its vibrant atmosphere, accessible yet elevated Italian menu, great cocktails and speakeasy style bar will be a welcome addition to the area.”
The Soho menu from new head chef, Simone Serafini, previously of Cecconi’s and 5 Hertford Street, will reflect the current Mayfair offering but with a wider range of aperitivo dishes and small plates, alongside classic Bocconcino favourites such as the tagliatelle with black truffle and Pizza Diavola (pizza with spicy salami), made fresh by pizzaiolos using a traditional Roman dough and technique.
The wine list is exclusively Italian, with bottles carefully selected from a variety of well-known brands and small, artisan producers, while bar manager Tim Adams has created a list of classic and contemporary cocktails.
Designed by CO:DE Studios, the upper dining area features a neutral colour palette with modern wooden fixtures and marble tables, with an impressive open kitchen with counter seating where guests can watch chefs create dishes while they dine.
The lower-floor bar has fiery accents of red and orange, including an undulating ceiling with a vivid webbed light fixture over the bar area.
The restaurant will also offer private dining for group celebrations, plus a DJ space on each floor for live entertainment.
Bocconcino Soho will open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and will offer weekend brunch options.
