Restaurateurs Arkady Levin and Mikhail Gokhner opened the flagship Argentine steakhouse El Gaucho on Paveletskaya Street in 1997. The establishment became the second in the chain of El Gaucho restaurants, which the partners had been developing since 1995. In 2008, Levin and Gochner opened another El Gaucho on Mayakovskaya Street. The restaurant cooks meat over an open fire right in the hall and offers 15 types of steaks. Now Mikhail Gochner's MGR group, in addition to the three Argentine steakhouses, includes a chain of Bocconcino pizzerias in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and London, as well as the Russian cuisine restaurant Na Melnitsa in the capital.
